Retiree Chairperson Joseph Guarino called the meeting to order on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 11:00 am.  The pledge of allegiance was recited followed by a moment of silence for the recently deceased retiree members.

Chairperson Joseph Guarino asked for a motion to accept September 9, 2022 meeting as written.  A motion was made and seconded.  The meeting minutes were accepted.

Chairperson Report:  The 2022 UAW International Officer Election was conducted by secret mail in ballot with the vote count concluding on December 2, 2022.  Because no candidate received a majority of votes in the races for International President, International Vice President (one of three positions), and Region 9 Director, there will be a runoff election for these races anticipated that ballots will be mailed to members starting on January 12, 2023, the deadline for the return of those ballots will be February 28, 2023, and the vote count will commence on March 1, 2023.

Healthcare:  Retirees have an annual allowance to order over the counter health related items from OTC Nation Benefit retirees with United Healthcare annual allowance is $150.00, BCBS annual allowance it $50.00 same benefit as last year.  You can place an order online at uawtrust.org/otcbenefit or call 877-218-9951.

New Healthcare & prescription drug providers starting January 1, 2023, should received one new healthcare card which includes Optum Rx they are being mailed out starting today.  UAW Trust and Optum Rx administered by United Healthcare Insurance have collaborated to offer prescription drug coverage, built specifically for UAW Trust members and retirees utilizing local pharmacies or mail order.

Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS):  Healthcare remain the same.  Keep your current healthcare card.  But prescription drug coverage is provided through Optum Rx and should’ve received a new prescription drug card.

50/50 Raffle purchase: half given to a ticket winner the other half is for donuts and printing meeting minutes.
