UAW LOCALS 122 RETIREE’S CHAPTER

EETING MINUTES March 14, 2025

 

Retiree Chairman Joseph Guarino called the meeting to order on Friday March 14, 2025, at 11:00 am.
The pledge of allegiance was recited followed by a moment of silence for the recently deceased retiree members.
Chairman, asked for a motion to accept December 13, 2024, meeting minutes as presented. A motion was made and second. The meeting minutes were accepted.

Secretary Ellen Douglas isn’t present due to being sick. Cards are circulating to let it be known that
she’s missed and a speedy recovery.

OLD BUSINESS
By-laws were presented at the December 13, 2024, meeting. Last time were updated 1973/1974 approximately 50 years ago. Those who wanted to review the by-laws, hard copies were available. After final approval they will be posted on UAW 122 website. A motion was made and second. The by-laws were accepted.

Investigated several other locations for holding our meeting. Results were not cost effective.

Joe proposed a new approach to the meals provided after our gatherings. He suggested that for two of our yearly meetings, we should serve coffee and donuts instead of the current full meals. However, for the Healthcare update and Christmas meetings we would continue to provide the existing type of meal. A motion was made and second and accepted.

Thanked the retirees for accepting the meeting meal modification.
Expressed gratitude, it was a difficult challenge for the Executive Board to resolve the issue with the meals. Also stated, don’t forget to sign Ellen Douglas’s card.

NEW BUSINESS
A motion was made, seconded and accepted the following Retiree and Associate Member transfer cards:

Retiree transfers: Donndl Hilton, Eugene Molnar, Thomas R, Flege, Lynn Wutrick, Gail Tucker, Gary Sitosky, Michael Gills, Ruby Driskill.
Associate Members: Sue Sluzala, Patricia Farmer, Evelyn J Anderson, Vickie McEwen, Mickie Yurick.

UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust has a magazine called Trust Contact that is mailed to all retirees.
Healthcare Information is available in the magazine.

UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust and Medicare does not pay for medical services you receive outside the United States. Joe advises retirees if they travel out of the country to pay for travel insurance which usually covers medical emergencies.
Questions, calls are always answered by visiting uawtrust.org/HealthPlan carriers for website links to health plan carrier's websites or call the phone number on the back of your medical ID card.

Over-the- Counter (OTC) Benefit, your current card was reloaded with $350 on January 1, 2025, none of the remaining balance will carry over into the next year.
Three convenient ways to place an order. Choose the way that works best for you:
1. In store: You can pick up your OTC items at any OTC-enabled store. How to use your OTC Health Solutions benefits in store: Several stores besides CVS participate in this benefit. To find products in store locate the OTC Network label. Not all items may be available through your plan, please refer to this catalog for the approved list of items. Inform the cashier you have the OTC benefit and present your member ID before they scan the products.
Identify approved items in the catalog. Only the items listed in your catalog are available through your plan
2. To place an order by phone, call 1-844-487-2770 (TTY: 711). You can talk to an agent Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 8 PM local time. Please have your order ready before you call.
3. How to place an order online: • Navigate to: uawtrust.org/otcbenefit. • If it is your first time placing an online order, you will need to create an account.

Black Lake invitation letter has not arrived yet. If any retiree would like to attend the Leadership meeting, please come forward and sign up. The invitation normally arrives before our June meeting. We will contact you.

Motion was made and second to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 PM and lunch followed.
